This is definitely a step up from the iPhone 12 Pro Max, it’s obvious, so what’s the difference between the two generations of flagship phones?
Difference between iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max:
1. Design and Display:
The first comparison between iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro max is their design, these 2 smartphones look very similar. Apple has introduced the right-angle bezel design first in iPhone 12 and it continues to stay with iPhone 13, this design gives a solid, premium-looking smartphone. They are also of the same display and phone size, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a little thicker and heavier than the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but as we’ll get to later, that’s not a big deal, especially since newer models can come with bigger batteries. Honestly, most people will not even notice the difference in feel and weight.
Design-wise, there are some bigger differences between the two, with the iPhone 13 Pro Max having a larger camera module than the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which allows for a better camera system. The screen notch on the new model is also a bit smaller than on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which frankly isn’t a huge difference, and in everyday use, it won’t make much of a difference.The display on the iPhone 12 Pro Max is great, it’s an OLED display with pretty high resolution, vibrant colors, and more. But one thing that makes the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s display even better is the fact that it supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes for a super-smooth, responsive feel. For some, it makes a big difference, but others might not notice.
2. Specifications and performance:
In terms of performance, every year Apple upgrades the processor in the iPhone, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max is no exception. The Apple A14 Bionic in the iPhone 12 Pro Max is very powerful, however, the Apple A15 Bionic is more powerful, but you won’t notice much of a difference right now.
That said, both that phones are more than adequate for heavy gaming, productivity, and more. But the main biggest difference in the specification is in the storage. While the iPhone 12 Pro Max offers up to 512GB of storage, the new phone has up to 1TB of storage. Most people won’t buy the top-of-the-line storage option anyway, but those who want extra storage should consider getting the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
3. Camera:
Next comes the camera, which is probably the biggest difference between the two phones is that both the phones offer great cameras, but the iPhone 13 Pro Max has better cameras than iPhone 12 Pro Max. Both phones have a triple-camera array with three 12MP cameras, including the main camera, an ultra-wide-angle, and a telephoto camera. But the latest phone improves it a little, thanks to a larger primary sensor and a larger aperture on the ultrawide sensor, as well as better image processing.If you care about camera quality, then you’ll love these two phones. But if you want the best camera performance, go for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
4. Battery life:
Remember when we mentioned that the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a bit thicker than the 12 Pro Max? The result of being thicker is that the new phone(iPhone 13 Pro Max) offer longer battery life. Apple says the iPhone 12 Pro Max is capable of up to 20 hours of video playback, while the 13 Pro Max offers up to 28 hours of video playback, which is a meaningful improvement and easily makes the extra thickness worthwhile.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max also charges the battery a bit faster than iPhone 12 Pro Max and the newer phone offers up to 27 Watt of fast charging, whereas iPhone 12 Pro Max offers 22 Watt. Most people don’t actually take advantage of this faster charging, and they still charge wirelessly via 15W MagSafe.
If you’re happy to save some money, you’ll be more than happy with the iPhone 12 Pro Max. But if you really want the best of Apple’s phones, then go for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. A detailed comparison shows that the iPhone 13 Pro Max is undoubtedly a better phone, with longer battery life, a better camera, a better display, and a faster processor. But aside from the battery, all of these things are only marginally better.
